About Us
Strip Amnesty is organised by a bunch of Birmingham-based footie fans, under the umbrella of Thrive, a movement set up to make a difference in our city and the world. The team is united by a love of football and a desire to give something back to the country hosting the 2010 World Cup.
Our chairman, Nick Venning, says: “Thrive has collected almost 2,000 suits in the past two years to redistribute to the jobless and homeless of Birmingham, with great results. The Strip Amnesty is a natural next step. Dig out your redundant shirts and give them to the cause.”
Or, as midfield engine Mark Triggs says: “Give a shirt I no longer need or use to someone who may never be able to afford one? Who is probably as football-mad as me? Just before the World Cup? It’s a no-brainer. Go on, get your kit off for South Africa!”
